Coach Van De Hey is from Kaukauna, WI and played at Marian University in Fond Du Lac. She played for Kaukauna fastpitch from 2012 to 2021 and Fondy Fusion from 2021-2023. She currently coaches Menasha High School and just concluded her second year there.

In high school, she was named honorable mention and 2 time second team all-conference where she pitched all 4 years on Varsity and won a state championship her senior season at Kaukauna high school.

She has been a pitching coach for all youth age levels since 2021, immediately following her high school playing career.

From Van De Hey: "My focus as a coach is developing strong fundamentals and sound mechanics. As a pitching coach, I place a greater emphasis on spin and movement than pure velocity. One lesson that has always stayed with me from my own pitching coach—both as a player and now as a coach—is that a pitcher’s primary job is to make the ball move in different directions.

A pitcher who can consistently create movement is much more difficult to hit than one who relies solely on speed. Velocity is important, but hitters at higher levels can catch up to fast pitches. What makes a pitcher truly effective is the ability to keep hitters off balance by making the ball move throughout the strike zone."
